JOB DESCRIPTION

L’Arche Southern Vermont is a newly established nonprofit organization committed to creating a foundational community in which people with and without intellectual disabilities care for one another and celebrate life together. We are a member of L’Arche USA, and a part of the International Federation of L’Arche. We work for a world where every person feels supported and connected. We seek a dynamic Executive Director to help guide the discernment process of who will live and work in our first community-based home and grow our mission to long-term sustainability. The Executive Director provides strategic, overall leadership in accordance with the mission and goals established by the Board of Directors of L’Arche Southern Vermont.   

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Works closely with the Board in mapping out strategic plans, developing the organization as an exceptional home and community-based model, and creating high quality programs and services that are responsive to individual and community needs.
  • Honors the fundamental value and dignity of all individuals, both with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and ensures a safe environment that respects diverse traditions, identities, and experiences.
  • Ensures that finances and assets are well managed and that operations are efficient and effective.
  • Works collaboratively with the Federation of L’Arche and serves as a spokesperson for the mission and values of L’Arche.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public administration, nonprofit management, or related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, ideally in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
  • Strong financial management and fundraising experience, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning, rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and commitment to community-based inclusion.
  • Experience in developing collaborations with a variety of community partners and service organizations.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary: $75,000 annually
  • Benefits: Health Insurance (individual), Paid Time Off
