L’Arche Northern Colorado is dedicated to creating inclusive communities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Host-Home Provider position is located at 1015 Brittany – Heartside Hill Community in Fort Collins and reports to Dustin Barrington, Executive Director & Community Leader of L’Arche Northern Colorado.
Employment Details
This is a contract or independent provider role. Compensation includes housing and food provided by L’Arche as well as a monthly salary.
Position Summary
We are looking for compassionate individuals or families to serve as Host-Home Providers. In this role, you will offer a safe, supportive, and inclusive home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate values the dignity of every person and is committed to fostering meaningful relationships and encouraging community inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a stable and nurturing home environment that supports independence, dignity, and personal growth.
- Assist residents in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and transportation.
- Plan and facilitate community activities and social events, enabling Core Members to connect with others, build relationships, and participate in joyful and purposeful experiences.
- Work collaboratively with case managers, families, and support teams to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Advocate for the rights, choices, and inclusion of each individual in all aspects of life.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to pass background checks.
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to participate in training and ongoing support.
- Comfortable and capable of providing physical assistance, including wheelchair transfers. Training will be provided as needed.
- Ensure that the home is prepared to meet home safety inspection requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to assist with mobility and physical transfers, including safely moving an adult from a wheelchair to a bed, toilet, or vehicle, using proper techniques and equipment when required.
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and supporting weight during transfers.
