Dear friends,
The aggression we have witnessed in Ukraine is an affront to international law and the Charter of the United Nations. The people of L’Arche, and many others, work for peace everyday. We believe in building bridges across differences. We believe that we can and must live alongside one another peacefully, particularly when we disagree.
We know that people with disabilities – especially intellectual and developmental disabilities – suffer the impacts of crisis and disaster disproportionately
“Anxiety is flying in the air, I am constantly checking the news,” my colleague in Ukraine tells us. “We will keep in contact and, in preparing for the worst, hope for the best.”
Your gift to the L’Arche Emergency Fund can give our friends in Ukraine hope in the face of uncertainty.
We do not know if families supported by L’Arche programs will flee, or if those in L’Arche residences will need to.
What we do know is that war is humanity’s greatest failure, and that its costs will bring financial, material and psychological burdens to the people of Ukraine.
Please help us to be there – for L’Arche Ukraine and other communities in crisis – with a gift to the L’Arche Emergency Fund. Your gift will strengthen relationships, community and hope.
Please give generously, and may peace prevail.
