Steve Rothrock Joins L’Arche USA Board

Stephen RothrockSteve comes from a long history of family participation in L’Arche. His personal involvement started as a student at the University of Washington when Jean Vanier gave a retreat in Seattle in 1977. Steve then became active in the Seattle community.

In 1979, he was accepted to be an assistant in L’Arche Trosly in Northern France. He went to visit for six months and ended up staying for four years. He served as a live-in assistant and later a house leader in both Trosly and Ambleteuse. Steve also served for two years as an elected member of the Administrative Council.

He then did his post-graduate studies in the UK and lived with a family in the L’Arche Lambeth community in London for one year. In 1986, both Steve and his wife Tessa Keating, a UK national, founded the L’Arche Spokane Nazareth community in his hometown of Spokane, Wash. He led that community until 1991 when the family moved to the UK.

Steve is President and CEO of ATREG, Inc. Headquartered in Seattle, Wash., the advisory firm he founded in 2000 specializes in helping companies dispose of infrastructure-rich advanced technology manufacturing assets all over the world. In 2012-2013, Steve spent 18 months in Japan to set up ATREG’s Tokyo office and oversee the firm’s Asian operations. Prior to founding ATREG, he established Colliers International’s Global Corporate Services initiative and headed the company’s U.S. division based in Seattle, Wash.

Before that, he worked as Director for Savills International commercial real estate brokerage in London, UK, also serving on the UK-listed property company’s international board.

Steve holds an MA degree in Political Theology from the University of Hull, UK, and a BA degree in Business Commerce from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Steve and Tessa currently live in Seattle. They have five children aged 16 to 29.
