L’Arche Blue Ridge Mountains was founded in October of 2004 after many years of prayer and planning by a mission group formed within the Church of the Covenant.  Currently there are two homes located here in Lynchburg, Virginia.  Each home has the capability of housing five core members and three assistants.  These homes often join together for prayer, celebration, and breakfasts on Saturday mornings.

Our core members have jobs within the community ranging from a bakery to teaching at an Early Learning Center.  They are active within churches throughout the community including the Church of the Latter Day Saints, the United Church of Christ, and the Baptist Church.

Our focus as a community is on the growth of spirituality, community life and reaching out to our neighbors.  Through accompaniment relationships we foster individual and communal growth.  L’Arche Blue Ridge Mountains is connected well throughout the community of Lynchburg, and we hope to deepen these roots.
